Holiday Images
Holiday images are seared into the brain at a very young age: the chocolate chip cookie crumbs on the plate as the wide eyed children rush to clamorous noise from the living room with presents stacked high and full; the menorah; Frosty; a long, oval table with generations of family packed deep with middle dad or oldest brother waiting to slice the turkey. Even Easter Eggs, Valentines hearts, and an American Flag in the foreground with fireworks in the rear are all images of holiday times for the average American. Holiday images are more traditionally observed between Turkey Day and the New Year; there is just so much, visually going on for images around that time; even before Halloween; once you sense autumn approaching you can just bet on holiday images. There are many great outlets for you available online if you’re looking for holiday images to add to your stash. Free holiday images are available with a simple search engine search for whatever holiday you’re looking for. For the kids, you can get online silhouette patters of holiday images and have them trace and color their favorite holiday images. Furthermore, if you’re throwing a holiday party and you’re looking for holiday images for your collection, there are free holiday invitation images available; again, just a simple search engine search and you’re done.

Even if you don’t celebrate Christmas there are images to be had. Adirondack chairs might scream Christmas time to you, but depending on what’s in the background, this can make or change the entire image. For example, had I a summer scene beyond you might not think of this a holiday image or it could come with a caption which reads “Thinking of you in warmer climes this sweltering Christmas time.”
There are holiday images using Judaism; the menorah, the dreidel; there are even 3D holiday images where spruce shoots forth, offering a holiday image which is practically, actually real. As we continue to evolve and morph into the great melting pot our forefathers probably never intended, no doubt more images will take hold of our subconscious: a piñata, a gold ingot, a rainbow flag!?! Maybe not yet; but maybe soon! |
