St. John Vacation
St. John, known for its endless stretches of white sand, azure blue bay, tropical fish, and colorful coral is the smallest of the United States Virgin Islands. Romantic vacations, pleasant holidays and temporary vacation homes can all be had in the USVI and fun holidays, beautiful beaches, water sports, fabulous food, relaxing attitudes, and affordable vacation rentals are available for the taking. Once you’ve arrived at the Virgin Islands, you’ll want to know how to get around. Lucky for you maneuvering this tiny island is easy. If you’ve arrived at Cruz Bay, you’re at the major town where the ferries dock. The Bay is on the west end of the island facing Red Hook in St. Thomas and is connected by excellent paved road to most everything. You have several choices if you’re interested in renting your own car right at the dock. You can also land a taxi ride or if you’re interested in getting going right away, you can hop on a tour bus.

In terms of accommodations, they run the gamut. You can sty at a big ticket resort type spot and pull out all the stops or if you’re more on a budget and just glad to be there you can find rentals at condo apartments which offer deals in the down season, all the way down to a small motel, inn, even campsite!
Luxury resorts are springing up more and more in more and more different places; big cities, rural paradise, country setting, mountain vistas. This is an attempt by companies like W or Marriott to slice out and exploit an even larger cross section of the country into their poison: absolute comfort, style, at a supreme price. If you’re looking for just a standard hotel situation, there are also limited venues for that interest and budget. So when traveling to St. John, make sure you make some sort of accommodation, lest you be stuck in the seedy basement room of a five star property, paying major dollars for substandard conditions because it’s all that’s available. The United States Virgin Islands offers vacation situations for every budget. The main attraction of every tropical island should be what there is to not do; USVI and St. John have that or the other, in spades. |
